Customers enhance South Lanarkshire housing services

The Customer Scrutiny Group (CSG) at South Lanarkshire Council is at the forefront of enhancing and refining housing services for the benefit of the community. Comprising dedicated customers who collaborate with the council, the CSG embarks on an annual schedule of scrutiny activities with a mission to ensure excellence in service delivery.
Throughout the past year, the CSG has been diligently engaged in three key scrutiny activities: managing void properties, assessing the homelessness application process, and conducting a mystery shopping exercise on reporting repairs. The South Lanarkshire Tenant Development Support Project (SLTDSP) provided invaluable support to the CSG during these initiatives.
Looking ahead, the CSG is gearing up to meet with the Resource Management Team, Housing, and Technical Resources in August to deliver their findings and recommendations gleaned from the aforementioned activities. Subsequently, action plans will be formulated and implemented over the ensuing months to drive continuous improvement.
Newly appointed CSG member, Karen Blair, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the community, citing the exceptional support received from South Lanarkshire Council in the past. Likewise, veteran CSG member, Mary Ann Patrick, echoed the sentiment, praising the group as a platform where not only have they worked tirelessly to advocate for South Lanarkshire Council tenants, but they have also forged lasting friendships.
Stay tuned as South Lanarkshire Council is poised to unveil the findings from the scrutiny activities later in the year, alongside details of the endorsed customer scrutiny programme for 2024/25. The commitment and dedication of the CSG serve as a shining example of collaborative efforts towards fostering a more robust and inclusive housing service provision.
