Persimmon supports Kinross taekwondo star with £1k donation

Kinross-based Lily Finch is a remarkable 10-year-old taekwondo prodigy who has been making waves on the international stage. With multiple world titles under her belt, Lily’s talent and determination have set her apart in the competitive world of martial arts. Recently, she received a generous donation of £1,000 from Persimmon North Scotland to support her ongoing journey towards achieving her taekwondo dreams.

Having recently moved into a new home at Persimmon’s Weavers Gait development, Lily took the initiative to write a heartfelt letter to Persimmon North Scotland’s managing director, expressing her love for her new house and her aspirations in taekwondo. This initiative caught the attention of James MacKay, the managing director, who was deeply impressed by Lily’s dedication and success at such a young age. As a gesture of support, Persimmon North Scotland decided to donate £1,000 to help Lily continue her journey of representing Scotland on the global taekwondo stage.

Lily’s achievements speak for themselves – from winning gold medals at the World Patterns Championships to competing against much older opponents, she has demonstrated exceptional skill and tenacity. Despite being just 10 years old, Lily has proven herself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of taekwondo.

The financial demands of competing at international events can be daunting, especially for young athletes like Lily who do not qualify for traditional funding opportunities. With upcoming competitions in London, Dublin, the Netherlands, and Barcelona on the horizon, Lily relies on donations and sponsorships to continue her competitive journey.

James MacKay expressed his delight in supporting Lily, describing her as an inspiration and a testament to hard work and dedication. Through Persimmon Homes’ contribution, Lily’s family is relieved of some of the financial burdens associated with her pursuit of excellence in taekwondo.

Lily’s mother, Pamela Finch, echoed the sentiments of gratitude towards Persimmon Homes, emphasising Lily’s unwavering commitment to her sport and the sacrifices required to excel at the highest level. The support from Persimmon Homes not only eases the financial strain on the family but also provides a sense of pride and encouragement as Lily continues to showcase her talents on the world stage.

As Lily prepares for upcoming competitions and sets her sights on new heights in her taekwondo career, the support from Persimmon North Scotland serves as a valuable source of motivation and empowerment. With a bright future ahead and a community rallying behind her, Lily Finch exemplifies the spirit of determination and resilience that fuels champions in the making.
