New Volvo EVs Get Black Edition with 442hp AWD.

Volvo Unveils Exciting Range Updates for the Future

Volvo has recently introduced a series of model updates that are sure to make waves in the automotive industry. These updates include the launch of Black Edition versions, a new EV powertrain, and the reintroduction of the V60 and V90 estates in PHEV and mild hybrid forms.

The new Black Edition models are making a bold statement with their sleek all-black exterior styling. Available for the EC40 crossover, EX40 SUV, and petrol XC40 SUV, these versions feature Onyx Black paintwork, black high-gloss front grille, Volvo badge and tailgate badging, and 20-inch five-spoke high-gloss black alloy wheels. The package comes in two equipment grades, Plus and Ultra, with prices starting from £40,720.

For the EC40 and EX40 Black Edition models, powertrain options include the rear-wheel-drive 252hp Single Motor Extended Range and a new all-wheel-drive Twin Motor Performance version with 442hp. The XC40 Black Edition is offered with the B3 and B4 mild-hybrid petrol powertrains, providing 163hp and 197hp respectively.

The Plus specification includes features like a heated steering wheel and outer rear seats, front parking sensors, powered driver’s seat with memory settings, an advanced air-purification system, and premium Connect suede textile/microtech upholstery. The fully electric EC40 and EX40 models also come with a heat pump for the climate control system, enhancing driving range.

Opting for the Ultra versions will further elevate your driving experience with a 360-degree surround-view parking camera system, active bending pixel LED headlights, powered passenger seat, power-folding rear headrests, panoramic sunroof, and a top-notch 600W, 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

In response to popular demand, Volvo has also reintroduced the V60 and V90 estates with new pricing. These models, which were temporarily removed from the lineup, are now back with a bang.

The V60 is available in Plus and Ultra specifications with options for the T6 or T8 petrol-electric plug-in hybrid powertrains and the B4 mild-hybrid petrol powertrain. The V90, on the other hand, only offers plug-in hybrid powertrains for the Plus and Ultra versions.

Pricing for the V60 starts from £43,370, while the V90 is priced from £62,280. All V60 and V90 plug-in hybrid variants boast an 8% Benefit-in-Kind tax rating.

The new Black Edition models and the V60 and V90 estates are now available for purchase, with the first UK customer deliveries expected in Q3 2024.
