New ultra-fast EV charging hub now open in Chesterfield

Be.EV, the charging network, has just unveiled a state-of-the-art eight-bay ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in the charming town of Chesterfield. Situated just a stone’s throw away from the bustling Chesterfield market, this new hub offers drivers the perfect opportunity to juice up their EVs while enjoying a leisurely stroll around Queen’s Park or a browse through the vast collection at Chesterfield library.
Excitingly, Be.EV is gearing up to mark the hub’s grand opening in style. On Friday, the company will be rolling out the red carpet by offering a fantastic deal to drivers who make use of their Be.EV app – a whopping half-price discount on charging between 2pm and 4pm! What better way to coincide with the town’s vibrant market day?
But wait, there’s more! The nearby Barley Mow pub will be on hand to provide hungry and thirsty drivers with delicious food and steaming hot coffees. As a special treat, guests will receive a handy voucher that can be redeemed at the pub the next time they swing by to charge up with Be.EV.
Speaking of charging, Be.EV’s ultra-rapid chargers are an absolute game-changer, capable of adding up to 165 miles of range in just a quick 20-minute pit stop. With nearly 3,500 EVs already gracing the streets of Chesterfield, the introduction of these lightning-fast chargers is bound to give a turbo boost to the EV revolution taking place in the Midlands.
This cutting-edge charging facility represents one of Be.EV’s initial forays into the region, joining forces with their existing network of over 700 charge points spanning the length and breadth of the country. The bulk of these chargers are strategically located in the North West, aiming to empower communities to embrace sustainable living.
Asif Ghafoor, the visionary CEO of Be.EV, couldn’t contain his excitement about the Chesterfield launch. “We’re absolutely thrilled to bring ultra-rapid, ultra-convenient EV charging to the wonderful town of Chesterfield and extend our reach within the Midlands,” he enthused. “Our mission is clear – to roll out dependable chargers to communities far and wide, and this latest hub will provide market-goers and locals with cutting-edge, future-proof charging solutions.”
He went on to stress the urgent need for the UK to transition to cleaner transport options, underscoring the vital role that robust infrastructure plays in realising our environmental aspirations. “It’s crucial for other landowners and local authorities to sit up and take notice,” Ghafoor continued. “As the number of EV drivers continues to rise, it’s only natural that they’ll gravitate towards destinations that offer hassle-free charging solutions while they shop or explore.”
On the financial front, Be.EV has recently secured a hefty £55 million in debt financing from NatWest and KfW IPEX-Bank. This substantial injection of funds will go a long way in fuelling Be.EV’s ambitious plans to deploy over 1,000 chargers by the close of 2024, further cementing their position as leaders in the EV charging industry.
