Stirling High School scores new sports kits thanks to Persimmon Homes donation

Stirling High School students are now proudly displaying their brand new sports kits, all thanks to a generous £4,000 donation from Persimmon Homes.
It was a moment of joy for both students and staff at the school when they were selected as one of Persimmon’s Community Champions, securing the much-needed funds to purchase new sports kits and equipment for the football and netball teams.
This charitable contribution came after a special visit to the school by former European and Commonwealth gymnastics champion Dan Purvis, organized by Persimmon Homes as part of their partnership with Team GB.
Inspired by the visit, the staff and students decided to apply for Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme, which aims to support charities and good causes in the areas where the company operates. Over the last five years, the program has donated over £360,000 across Scotland.
Colin MacPherson, the PE teacher at Stirling High School, expressed his gratitude, stating: “The generous support from Persimmon Homes will boost the morale of our teams with new strips for the upcoming season’s games. Additionally, this donation will benefit all pupils in the school with new PE and extracurricular sports equipment.”
Laura Still, Persimmon East Scotland sales director, added: “Visiting Stirling High School with Team GB athlete Dan Purvis was a wonderful experience last year, and it was evident how much passion there is for sports throughout the school.”
She further mentioned, “Our Community Champions scheme is aimed at supporting the communities in which we operate, and I am thrilled that we can contribute towards funding new kits and equipment for the school. I hope this donation will ease the financial burden on the school’s staff in running their outstanding sports clubs.”
