Good Energy introduces new fixed tariff

Good Energy Group, a leading renewable electricity firm, has recently introduced a new fixed tariff specially designed to assist EV drivers in charging their vehicles conveniently both at home and on the go.

The new tariff offers an incredibly low rate of only 7.4p per kWh for overnight charging within a five-hour window, ensuring EV drivers can power up their vehicles using 100% renewable electricity at home. Moreover, customers who opt for this tariff will also receive a complimentary premium subscription to Zapmap.

Zapmap, a reputable EV charging app, is not only a long-term partner of Good Energy but is also the largest investor in the company. Currently, Zapmap tracks over 60,000 charge points, with more than 70% of them providing real-time data on costs and availability.

A recent survey conducted by Zapmap revealed that EV drivers are more inclined to have solar panels, heat pumps, and batteries installed in their homes. These are all services offered by Good Energy, making the collaboration between the two companies a seamless fit for environmentally-conscious individuals.

The Good Energy Smart EV Fixed tariff was officially launched on the 1st of July, featuring an off-peak rate accessible within a five-hour window from 12 am to 5 am. This means that customers can charge a standard range Tesla Model Y from empty to 100% for as little as £4.50.

This innovative tariff is set to remain active until the 31st of July 2025, providing long-term benefits to EV drivers looking to maintain cost-effective and eco-friendly charging solutions for their vehicles.

Nigel Pocklington, the chief executive officer of Good Energy and chair of Zapmap, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch of the new tariff, stating, “As a significant investor in the UK’s go-to EV charging app, a reliable supplier of renewable electricity, and an expert EV charger installer, Good Energy is well-positioned to support EV drivers. Our goal is to make driving an electric vehicle as cost-effective and straightforward as possible.”

Pocklington further added, “This new tariff, along with the fantastic features offered by Zapmap, aims to provide customers with a competitive rate for genuinely renewable electricity sourced from our extensive community of over 2,500 generators. Additionally, it offers a valuable benefit to assist with on-the-go charging through the Zapmap Premium service.”

Similarly, Melanie Shufflebotham, the co-founder and chief operating officer of Zapmap, shared her thoughts on the partnership with Good Energy, saying, “Zapmap’s mission is to simplify the search, planning, and payment processes for EV charging while drivers are on the move. Therefore, collaborating with our long-standing partners at Good Energy to pair our service with a tariff that promotes economical home charging is truly exciting for us.”

Overall, the collaboration between Good Energy and Zapmap signifies an essential step towards the promotion of sustainable and efficient solutions for EV drivers. By offering a comprehensive package that includes cost-effective tariffs and user-friendly EV charging services, both companies are committed to supporting the transition towards a cleaner and greener transportation system.
