APCOA teams up with CTEK for charging points.

CTEK, a leading provider of electric vehicle charge points, has teamed up with parking firm APCOA to bring fast EV charging to car parks across the UK. Through a partnership supply agreement, CTEK will install its CHARGESTORM CONNECTED units in APCOA-managed car parks, allowing for rapid EV charging at up to 22kW.

With APCOA managing 1.8 million parking spaces in 13 countries, this collaboration marks a significant step towards making EV charging more accessible and convenient for drivers. Currently, there are over 1,000 charge points installed in UK car parks managed by APCOA, with an additional 300 in the pipeline for the coming year.

The first installations of CTEK charge points have already been completed in car parks owned by Hillingdon Council in West London. Furthermore, CTEK charge points will be deployed in 37 railway station car parks operated by Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), further expanding the reach of EV charging infrastructure.

CTEK’s latest offering, the CC3 charge point, boasts advanced features such as ‘plug & charge’ automatic vehicle identification and support for the OCPP 2.0.1 standard. With its robust anti-tamper enclosure, advanced cyber security measures, dual socket options, and fast 22kW charging capability, the CC3 is tailored for multi-point installations in car parks.

Nathan Courts, CTEK’s Key Account Manager in the UK, emphasised the alignment of this partnership with CTEK’s commitment to sustainable charging solutions. He stated, “Our new CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 (CC3)charge point is designed to interact seamlessly with APCOA’s customer-centric approach to parking, payment, and charging services, fostering a greener future.”

Kim Challis, APCOA’s Regional Managing Director – UK & Ireland, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with CTEK, highlighting the incorporation of the latest dual 22kW technology into their service offerings. She stated, “This partnership enables us to provide cutting-edge EV charging functionality to our clients, complemented by APCOA’s top-notch customer service and operational management.”

Daniel Forsberg, Marketing Manager EVSE at CTEK, underscored the significance of this partnership in expanding the reach of advanced EV charging solutions in the UK. He commented, “By deploying our state-of-the-art units, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable future by enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of EV charging at strategic locations nationwide.”

As CTEK and APCOA join forces to roll out innovative EV charging infrastructure, drivers across the UK can look forward to a more seamless and eco-friendly experience. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both companies to promoting sustainable mobility and reducing carbon emissions in the transport sector.
