Royal Mail to Offer 120,000+ Employees Novuna Sal-Sac Scheme

Royal Mail Group has enlisted the expertise of Novuna Vehicle Solutions to offer its 120,000 employees access to electric vehicles, establishing one of the largest company car salary sacrifice schemes in the UK.

Jon Lawes, managing director at Novuna Vehicle Solutions

This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide employees with a practical and adaptable way to transition to both new and used EVs, aligning with Royal Mail’s ambitious net-zero target by 2040.

Royal Mail’s decision to partner with Novuna was influenced by the company’s track record in managing company car and mixed vehicle fleets, having successfully serviced long-standing clients such as Amey and Defra during their transition to EV fleets.

Under this scheme, employees will gain access to a customised EV Hub offering valuable guidance on switching to electric vehicles. Additionally, a new internal ordering portal will be introduced, accompanied by exclusive vehicle benefits like tailored insurance packages facilitated by Howden Insurance UK.

Furthermore, staff will have the opportunity to select from a range of intelligent chargers for installation at their residences, all covered within their monthly vehicle contracts to further facilitate the shift towards electric mobility.

Novuna Vehicle Solutions is set to incorporate used vehicles into the mix as part of their end-to-end decarbonisation leasing options, allowing Royal Mail employees to embark on a cost-effective journey towards embracing electric vehicles.

This strategic appointment comes on the heels of a string of recent partnerships for Novuna Vehicle Solutions with prominent names such as Wickes, Saint-Gobain UK, and Quooker.

Commenting on the collaboration, Jon Lawes, the managing director at Novuna Vehicle Solutions, expressed, “This appointment underscores our proficiency in delivering comprehensive salary sacrifice solutions on a significant scale. We are dedicated to offering innovative and accessible solutions that empower organisations like Royal Mail to fulfil their sustainability objectives while equipping their employees with the necessary tools.”

“Given the pressing need for a transition to sustainable transportation, providing accessible options for employees is paramount to expediting the journey towards a net-zero future. This programme epitomises our shared vision of promoting low-emission mobility, and we eagerly anticipate working hand in hand with Royal Mail to enhance the accessibility of electric and low-emission vehicles for all employees,” Lawes added.
