KOSTAL Group unveils new EV charging software brand

KOSTAL Group Introduces vaylens: Revolutionising EV Charging Infrastructure Management

KOSTAL Group has taken a significant leap forward in the realm of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure by launching vaylens, an innovative software division. This new arm of the company aims to simplify the management of charging infrastructures and streamline the billing processes, enhancing the overall efficiency of the system.

Vaylens will focus on providing software solutions to complement Compleo Charging Solutions, the hardware arm of the KOSTAL Group that works towards optimising EV charging technology. One of the standout achievements of KOSTAL Group is the successful implementation of plug-and-charge technology independently of hardware in the market through its onboard chargers (OBCs), with more than 4,500,000 vehicles already equipped with this technology. This move signifies a crucial aspect of the company’s energy solutions strategy, with the software backend being an integral part of the wider electromobility ecosystem.

For both newcomers and established charge point operators (CPOs), vaylens offers a comprehensive range of solutions for managing and monetising charging infrastructure. As a hardware-independent software provider, vaylens caters to applications in both public and private sectors. The primary goal is to provide CPOs with user-friendly and scalable solutions that are easy to handle, enabling them to make their charging stations accessible to all electric vehicle drivers with minimal effort. Vaylens innovative products promise to revolutionise charging experiences in workplaces, residential buildings, and vehicle fleets, making the process efficient and seamless.

Dr. Gregor M. Schmeken, MoB of the KOSTAL Group, expresses excitement about this strategic step towards innovative energy solutions with vaylens. He emphasises the significance of investing in a leading software backend provider like vaylens in the charging and energy infrastructure landscape. Jörg Lohr, CEO of vaylens, highlights the evolving needs of customers in the charging infrastructure market, and vaylens’ commitment to providing reliable and efficient software solutions that facilitate optimal management of charging infrastructure, regardless of the hardware in use. Customers can expect a wider array of choices and an enhanced user experience, tailored to the challenges of this dynamic market.

Russell Olive, UK Director of vaylens, underscores the urgent need for an innovative solution like vaylens in the UK’s EV charging infrastructure. As electric vehicles become more prevalent across the country, there is a growing demand for convenient, efficient, and reliable charging solutions. Vaylens aims to address these needs comprehensively, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for EV drivers nationwide.

With vaylens at the forefront of EV charging infrastructure management, the future of electromobility looks brighter and more sustainable than ever.
