Citroën C3 Aircross: 7-Seat Option & 186-Mile Electric Variant!

Citroën has officially unveiled its all-new C3 Aircross compact SUV, which now boasts the option of up to seven seats and even a fully electric version.

Entering its second generation, this Dacia Jogger competitor is built on Stellantis’ value-driven Smart Car platform, which it shares with the smaller C3 supermini and the upcoming Vauxhall Frontera.

Transformed into a “bold and stylish” SUV with a more rugged, muscular, and durable appearance, the C3 Aircross embodies Citroën’s fresh brand identity. The brand promises a “competitive pricing strategy” that will certainly make waves in the market.

Despite its compact size of 4.39m, the Citroën offers a surprisingly roomy interior. The five-seater version boasts class-leading space in the second row and a boot capacity ranging from 460 to 1,600 litres.

For those opting for the seven-seater option, only petrol versions are available, with a minimal 40 litres boot space with the rear seats up and 330 litres when folded down.

The affordable fully electric version features a 113hp motor and a 44kWh battery, giving an estimated WLTP range of over 186 miles and a top speed of 84mph. Recharging is quick and convenient, with up to 100kW DC charging providing a 20% to 80% top-up in just 26 minutes. AC charging from 20% to 80% takes around four hours 10 minutes with a 7kW charger and two hours 50 minutes with an 11kW unit.

A longer-range variant with a larger battery is set to launch in 2026, boasting a WLTP range of over 250 miles.

The initial lineup includes a petrol version featuring a 100hp 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech 100 engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

There’s also a 136hp mild hybrid option available, combining the PureTech engine with an electrified dual-clutch automatic transmission. This setup includes a 28hp electric motor powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery under the floor, offering nearly 50% urban driving in electric mode, according to Citroën, and emitting just 121g/km of CO2.

All versions of the C3 Aircross are equipped with Citroën’s Advanced Comfort suspension with dual progressive hydraulic bump stops.

The design reflects Citroën’s new design language, inspired by the Oli concept and seen in the new C3 and ë-C3.

Inside, the C-Zen-Lounge concept influences the interior, featuring a head-up display, a compact steering wheel, and redesigned Citroën Advanced Comfort seats for optimal support.

Buyers can choose between two trim levels: Plus and Max. Max trim offers a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, four USB-C sockets, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, active safety braking, lane departure warning, driver attention alert, cruise control, speed limiter, and speed limit sign recognition.

The range-topping Max models add 3D LED rear lights, a bi-tone roof, 3D navigation, wireless smartphone charging, blind spot detection in the exterior mirrors, front parking sensors, electrochrome interior mirror, and a winter pack with heated seats, steering wheel, and windscreen.

The new Citroën C3 and ë-C3 Aircross will hit the UK market in the autumn, with first deliveries scheduled by the end of the year. Prices are anticipated to start below £20,000.
