Have your say on Stirling’s new plan!

As Stirling’s new Local Development Plan (LDP) unfolds, the engagement of residents, community groups, and businesses is crucial to define the key components of the Plan. Input is sought to shape the Evidence Report, which forms the bedrock of the new LDP by compiling data and insights on factors like housing, infrastructure, and health requirements.

Individuals are urged to contribute their perspectives to shape pivotal areas such as housing, local living, and heritage. The forthcoming Local Development Plan will serve as the compass for all future developments in the region, encompassing the construction of new homes, roads, schools, parks, and other community amenities.

This official planning document delineates policies and propositions for development, land management, and usage, ensuring its alignment with the long-term interests of the public. It aids the council in steering developments to optimal locations, safeguarding the built and natural environment, and outlining strategies for providing new or enhanced community facilities, including roads, schools, and parks.

Stirling Council ratified its current LDP in October 2018. The upcoming LDP will underpin and oversee changes and growth within the Stirling Council area, excluding the territory overseen by the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Planning Authority.

Prior to publication and submission to the Scottish Minister for evaluation, the Evidence Report for the new LDP necessitates approval from the council. The council aims to endorse its new LDP by December 2027.
