Wheatley excels in building affordable homes in Edinburgh and the Lothians

Wheatley Homes East, a division of the renowned Wheatley Group, has demonstrated its commitment to providing affordable housing in the east by completing almost 200 new homes in the past financial year, with more in the pipeline. These new homes aim to meet the ever-growing demand for housing in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. The social landlord constructed 197 new homes, consisting of 168 homes for social rent and 29 for mid-market rent.

The completed homes showcase Wheatley Homes East’s dedication to creating modern, high-quality, energy-efficient, and affordable housing options. The development includes 48 homes in Wallyford, with a mix of social and mid-market rentals, 36 homes in Macmerry, 35 in Penicuik, 34 in Raw Holdings, 32 in Roslin, and 12 in The Wisp.

Laura Henderson, the managing director of Wheatley Homes East, expressed pride in their new-build and regeneration plans, highlighting the positive impact already made in the community. She stated, “Our investment goes beyond just physical structures; it is about building a better future for our customers and transforming lives.”

Moreover, Wheatley Homes East is actively working on several upcoming projects, including the construction of 425 homes at West Craigs, 90 in Wallyford, 81 in Winchburgh, 46 in Deans South, Livingston, 63 in Raw Holdings, and additional homes in Macmerry, Rowanbank, Rosewell, Bathgate, Leith, and Blackford.
