Renault now taking orders for Rafale hybrid coupé-SUV.

Rafale coupé-SUV is the latest flagship vehicle from Renault, now available for purchase starting at £38,195. This stunning vehicle is designed for ultimate driving pleasure, making it a desirable addition to the D-segment market.

Renault’s Renaulution strategic plan has been the driving force behind the creation of the Rafale. This plan aims to revolutionise the automotive industry, starting with the release of vehicles like the Arkana E-Tech full hybrid coupé-SUV, Austral SUV, Megane E-Tech, and the newly unveiled Symbioz SUV.

The Rafale stands out as the first production vehicle to embody the new design language introduced by Gilles Vidal. It also boasts a revolutionary Solarbay panoramic glass roof, developed in collaboration with Saint-Gobain. This innovative feature allows parts of the roof to darken on demand, adding a touch of exclusivity to the vehicle.

Constructed on the Alliance’s cutting-edge CMF-CD platform, also used for the Austral SUV, the Rafale features a raised fastback-style body with dimensions that firmly place it in the D-segment category. With a length of 4.7m and a width of 1.86m, this vehicle offers ample space for both passengers and cargo. The boot space is generous at 535 litres, extendable to 647 litres as needed.

Initially, the Rafale is offered with a 200hp E-Tech full hybrid petrol powertrain. This impressive engine combines a 130hp turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine with two electric motors. The result is a powerful yet efficient drivetrain that promises exceptional fuel economy, with expected figures of 60.1mpg and 105g/km CO2 emissions. The hybrid setup allows for a range of up to 683 miles, along with quick acceleration from 0-62mph in just 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 111mph.

For those seeking even more power, a 300hp plug-in hybrid powertrain will be introduced later. This version will come equipped with an additional electric motor on the rear axle, along with enhanced chassis tuning for enhanced performance and handling.

Both powertrain options can be paired with the advanced 4Control four-wheel steering system, which improves manoeuvrability at low speeds and enhances stability during cornering. Furthermore, the Rafale features Vehicle Motion Control 2 (VMC 2), an upgraded electronic system designed to prevent any loss of grip on the rear wheels.

The Rafale lineup comprises three trim levels: Techno, Techno Esprit Alpine, and Iconic Esprit Alpine. The entry-level Techno model offers a host of advanced features, including a 12.3-inch driver information display, a 12-inch OpenR link infotainment screen with Arkamys six-speaker audio system, and built-in Google services. Other highlights include wireless phone charging, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, and front and rear electric windows.

Design-wise, the Rafale impresses with 20-inch black diamond-cut alloy wheels, automatic headlights with automatic high/low beam, LED front signature lighting, and automatic windscreen wipers. The vehicle also comes equipped with up to 32 advanced driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, emergency brake assist, blind spot warning, and lane departure warning.

For those looking for a more luxurious experience, the Techno Esprit Alpine and Iconic Esprit Alpine trims offer additional features like 4Control Advanced four-wheel steering, a panoramic sunroof, premium audio systems, hands-free parking, and a 360-degree around view 3D camera.

The Renault Rafale represents a leap forward in automotive design and technology. With its cutting-edge features and refined performance, this vehicle is sure to make a lasting impression on the road. First deliveries are expected to begin in July, so don’t miss your opportunity to experience the Rafale for yourself.
