Alex Lamb appointed managing director at Wheatley Homes South.

Alex Lamb takes the reins as the new interim managing director at Wheatley Homes South in Dumfries & Galloway, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a passion for affordable housing.
Wheatley Homes South, a key player in the Wheatley Group, boasts a portfolio of approximately 10,400 homes available for social rent within the region. As Scotland’s second-largest Registered Social Landlord, the organisation has recently unveiled an ambitious new-build initiative. This groundbreaking programme aims to construct around 800 affordable homes across 12 different areas in Dumfries & Galloway, addressing the pressing need for housing in the area.
Ms Lamb, currently serving as the head of housing at Wheatley Homes East before taking on this new role, is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with the Wheatley Homes South team. With a firm belief in the importance of affordable housing, she looks forward to spearheading the implementation of their innovative new-build plans.
Replacing Alan Glasgow, who has been promoted to the esteemed position of Group Managing Director of Registered Social Landlords within the Wheatley Group, Alex is determined to continue the legacy of creating opportunities for young people in the region. She emphasises the importance of engaging with schools and colleges to inform the youth about the myriad career prospects within the housing sector, debunking the myth that one must leave the area to pursue a successful career.
Alex’s commitment to excellence and her dedication to enhancing the quality of life for tenants make her an ideal candidate to lead Wheatley Homes South into the future. Jo Boaden CBE, the chair of Wheatley Homes South, expresses her enthusiasm at welcoming Alex to the team. She commends Alex’s leadership skills and her proactive approach to driving up standards to benefit tenants and communities alike.
