Iveco Unveils eDaily Mobile Power Van at CV Show 2024

Iveco has premiered its eDaily ‘Mobile Power Station’ at the 2024 Commercial Vehicle show as one of the four showcased vehicles. This innovative showcase continues the legacy of impressive EVs, including the record-breaking Iveco eDaily from 2023, which made headlines in the towing world.
The Mobile Power Station, showcased at the EV Café Village, highlights the remarkable power of the eDaily’s ePTO. This unique feature is a key factor that contributed to the vehicle winning the title of light truck of the year at the recent Great British Fleet Awards.
The eDaily version maintains the renowned Daily line-up’s truck-based chassis but introduces a revolutionary modular battery system. What sets this vehicle apart is its exceptional up-to-50kW ePTO onboard power, enabling it to support heavy-duty equipment like compactors, fire-fighting gear, road maintenance machinery, and gully cleaners.
The Mobile Power Station on display at the CV Show is based on a 4.25-tonne, three-battery eDaily (42S14e) equipped with a 15kW high voltage ePTO. In addition to its impressive onboard power capabilities, this van boasts a class-leading cargo volume that houses the ‘Power Wall’, showcasing the flow of energy from the vehicle’s batteries to various outlets.
As part of its unique features, the Mobile Power Station invites show attendees to charge their smart devices and laptops while simultaneously powering items such as TV screens. Visitors can also test their skills by playing a buzzwire game built into the van, with the chance to win a spot on the leaderboard – all powered by the vehicle’s onboard energy.
This 4100-wheelbase eDaily will make appearances at various UK events throughout the year, serving as a symbol of the remarkable ePTO power it offers.
The Iveco eDaily offers a range of ePTO options, including 50kW and 15kW ePTO, as well as a mechanical 15kW ePTO that can operate pumps for cranes and other heavy-duty lifting equipment. Additionally, it features a low-voltage 2.5kW ePTO that functions independently from the traction motor and can operate even when the vehicle is turned off.
Mike Cutts, the director of Iveco’s UK light business line, commented, “The 50kW ePTO is truly unparalleled in the market. The Mobile Power Station vehicle has been specifically designed to showcase the capabilities of this ePTO power, with operators already leveraging this option for challenging missions.”
Alongside the Mobile Power Station, three other versions of the Iveco eDaily are also making an appearance at the CV Show, highlighting the versatility of the eLCV.
At the Destination Net Zero stand, visitors can find a 7.2-tonne eDaily box van featuring a lightweight Bodywork Solutions body made from Omnia recyclable thermoplastic. This van is equipped with roof-mounted Trailar solar panels that provide additional energy to power the vehicle’s tail-lift, potentially increasing the range by up to 30 miles on delivery trips. Moreover, this vehicle includes a Locks4Vans solution to enhance security and prevent battery theft.
The show also features Stockton-on-Tees Council’s new eDaily library van, emphasizing the vehicle’s sturdy truck-based chassis and zero-emission capabilities. Presented at the Fischer Panda stand, this 7.2-tonne EV comes with a lightweight body crafted by Torton Bodies.
Lastly, the renowned eDaily that achieved the remarkable towing world record of 153.58 tonnes is also on display. Driven by professional strongman Adam Bishop, this vehicle utilized its robust truck-based chassis to secure a place in the Guinness World Records.
