New Mazda SUV, CX-80, Seats Seven!

Mazda has recently unveiled its latest addition to the European market, the CX-80 large SUV, set to hit dealerships this autumn. This seven-seater behemoth is not only the brand’s first of its kind in the region but also stands as a pinnacle of space, technology, and top-tier design.
The CX-80, the second model built on Mazda’s Large Architecture platform following the CX-60, boasts a three-row layout with two fold-flat third-row seats and a variety of second-row configurations to choose from. You can opt for two separate captain seats paired with either a centre console or a walkthrough to the third row, providing flexibility for passengers and cargo alike.
At launch, Mazda offers powertrain options that include the e-Skyactiv PHEV. This hybrid system combines a four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering a robust total power output of 327hp and 500Nm of torque. The SUV can sprint from 0-62mph in just 6.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 121mph (195km) with an impressive electric-only range of 37 miles (60km). With WLTP CO2 emissions at 36g/km, the CX-80 falls into the 12% Benefit-in-Kind bracket, with an official fuel economy rating of 177mpg (1.6l/100km).
Additionally, Mazda offers a 245hp in-line six-cylinder mild hybrid diesel variant for the CX-80, providing a range of 48.7-49.6mpg (5.7-5.8l/100km) and CO2 emissions of 148-151g/km. Both engine options are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-biased permanent all-wheel drive, giving drivers plenty of control on the road. The Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) system, also seen in the CX-60, offers four different drive modes, including an EV mode specific to the PHEV model.
For those with towing needs, the CX-80 boasts a hefty 2,500kg towing capacity and features a new Trailer Hitch View system, utilising the centre display and advanced graphics to assist in trailer positioning.
Exciting technological advancements come with the CX-80, such as the integration of Alexa for in-car voice control and a hybrid navigation system that combines offline and online services for optimal convenience and reliability.
