Scotland Excel releases tender for new housing projects.

Scotland Excel, the public sector procurement organisation, has officially launched the tender for its highly anticipated New Build Residential Framework. This framework, considered the organisation’s largest construction framework, is projected to be valued at an impressive £1.5 billion over the span of four years.
Through this second generation framework, companies now have the opportunity to submit bids to become part of a pivotal initiative aimed at assisting councils and housing associations in establishing contracts with suppliers for the successful execution of their new build housing projects.
The New Build Residential Framework is designed to facilitate the procurement process for a diverse array of properties, ranging from traditional houses and apartments to care facilities, student accommodations, and social rented or mixed tenure buildings.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Julie Welsh, the chief executive of Scotland Excel, highlighted the significance of this framework stating, “I am delighted that the tender process for the second iteration of our New Build Residential Framework is now live. This framework holds a crucial position within our construction portfolio and offers essential assistance to our members in securing the design and construction of a wide range of properties, as they strive to fulfil national policy objectives concerning the development of new social housing.”
This tender is open to all interested suppliers, inviting them to partake in the bidding process. Detailed information regarding the tender can be accessed through Public Contracts Scotland website at Public Contracts Scotland.
The deadline for the submission of bids is set for 13th May 2024, following which the evaluation process will commence. The ambition is to have the framework operational by autumn of the same year, offering a significant opportunity for suppliers to engage with this high-profile construction initiative.
