Rolls-Royce’s SMR advances with UK-Poland alliance

The Net Zero Club News Network brings you an exciting update on a recent collaboration between Polish giant Industria and the UK’s Chiltern Vital Group (CVG) that is poised to accelerate the advancement of Rolls-Royce small modular reactor (SMR) technology.
After a meticulous two-year evaluation process, Industria has selected Rolls-Royce SMR tech with the ambitious goal of producing 50,000 tonnes of low carbon hydrogen annually in Poland.
CVG, the developer behind this groundbreaking project, has successfully completed the acquisition of Gloucester Science & Technology Park from South Gloucestershire & Stroud College (SGSC).
This acquisition is just the beginning of a larger initiative involving key partners such as Western Gateway, SGSC, University of Bristol, Vital Energi, and Rolls-Royce SMR. Together, they are on a mission to establish a cutting-edge nuclear technologies campus that will facilitate the deployment of Rolls-Royce SMRs and other net zero technologies.
Alan Woods, Director of Strategy and Business Development at Rolls-Royce SMR, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “This announcement paves the way for CVG to play a crucial role in supporting Great British Nuclear in delivering groundbreaking technology by the early to mid-2030s.”
This collaboration marks a significant step towards achieving sustainable energy goals and propelling the evolution of nuclear technologies. Stay tuned for more updates on this revolutionary partnership!
