First-ever electric BMW X2 iX2 now available in UK.

The highly anticipated new X2 SUV-coupé from BMW is now available for order, presenting customers with the option to choose the groundbreaking iX2 fully electric edition.
With a more substantial build and enhanced coupé styling, the second-generation crossover from BMW – a key partner in the upcoming Great British Fleet Event – boasts a range of new features, increased power, and an impressive 283-mile WLTP range for the iX2.
The X2 lineup commences with the X2 sDrive20i, starting at £40,515. This model is equipped with a three-cylinder petrol engine featuring mild hybrid technology, delivering 170hp and torque reaching 280Nm. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 8.3 seconds, with a combined fuel consumption rating of 44.8-48.7mpg and WLTP CO2 emissions ranging from 131-143g/km.
For those seeking more power, the M35i xDrive is priced at £49,340, boasting a 300hp four-cylinder petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. This model accelerates to 62mph in just 5.4 seconds.
Both petrol engine variants are coupled with a seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch and come standard with gearshift paddles on the steering wheel.
For those interested in electric options, the iX2 offers two variants: the eDrive20 and the xDrive30. The eDrive20, priced at £51,615, features a 204hp electric motor at the front axle, allowing for a 0-62mph time of 8.6 seconds and a top speed capped at 106mph.
The all-wheel drive xDrive30 model includes an additional battery at the rear, generating a combined 313hp (with temporary boost) and 494Nm of torque. With a 64.8kWh battery, the eDrive20 boasts a WLTP range of 272-283 miles, while the xDrive30 covers 259-267 miles on a single charge.
Charging is a breeze with the iX2, capable of charging at up to 11kW AC as standard, providing a full 0-100% charge in 6.5 hours. Customers can opt for three-phase AC charging up to 22kW, reducing the charging time to a mere 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Additionally, the iX2 can charge at up to 130kW DC using a public rapid charger, delivering a 10-80% charge in approximately 29 minutes. Adaptive recuperation offers adjustable power recuperation based on traffic situations, with the option to select braking energy recovery levels via the iDrive menu.
These new electric models align with BMW’s commitment to having over two million fully electric vehicles on the roads by 2025, with a vision for every second BMW Group vehicle sold globally to be equipped with an all-electric drive system by 2030.
Irrespective of powertrain, all models come with M Sport specification as standard, featuring M-specific bodywork, 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inch for the X2 M35i xDrive), Adaptive M suspension, Sport steering, and M Sport brakes. The interior is equally impressive, with an M-specific cockpit design, sport seats, Alcantara-covered instrument panel, anthracite headliner, and an M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles.
The latest technologies are seamlessly integrated, including the standard Curved Display combining a 10.25-inch information display and a 10.7-inch control display, along with the new BMW Operating System 9 and iDrive with QuickSelect. Smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard, as is a two-zone automatic climate control system and a rain sensor with automatic headlight activation.
The X2 is equipped with a range of driver assistance systems that support automated driving and parking, ensuring a safe and seamless driving experience for all passengers.
With enhanced dimensions compared to its predecessor, the X2 can accommodate 560 litres of cargo with seats up – an increase of 90 litres – and expands to 1,470 litres when the seats are folded down (+115 litres). The mild hybrid X2 sDrive20i offers a boot capacity of 515 – 1,400 litres, while the all-electric BMW iX2 provides between 525 and 1,400 litres of storage space.
An optional trailer tow hitch is available, now easily operable at the touch of a button. The maximum permitted trailer load is up to 1,800kg for petrol models and 1,200kg for the iX2.
All the petrol and electric models are meticulously produced on a single assembly line at BMW Group Plant Regensburg, ensuring the highest quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Deliveries for the new BMW X2 are set to begin this month, offering customers a superior driving experience that combines performance, luxury, and sustainability in one exceptional vehicle.
